A great Scientist-Changes-Himself-Into-A-Drooling-Prehistoric-Throwback film. It is still able to make a theater full of kids jump, yet make that same audience laugh each time the scientist, yet again, inadvertently poisons himself. Pretty amazing stuff. This film is denigrated several places around the internet, and in Maltin's book. Don't listen to those asswipes. The usual Universal gleam.
